Photo Update

In my post about Alana and Luke's wedding I had a picture with 7 1/2 of the Anderson siblings.   I hoped someone had a picture with all of Betty Lou and would send it to me.    Well, no one sent me one but my niece Lindsay did have this photo on Facebook.  Hope you don't mind that I used it Lindsay.

I just found this video on my Blackberry.   At the family dinner after the wedding the girls performed this song that Angie, Erika and Mike wrote.

I forgot that I recorded it.   Please excuse the shaky video that I filmed with my Blackberry.   At least I had a good seat.

Papahashi and Sons

I now have 2 son-in-laws (or is it sons-in-law?).   And they were together for the first time this week.

On Sunday night this week Mike flew out of Honolulu and and landed Monday morning in Edmonton.  Alana and Luke drove up to pick him up at the airport.   It was the first time Mike and Luke met since Mike wasn't able to come to the wedding.   


Unfortunately Mike came to attend the funeral of his half-brother who died from a heart attack.  The plan was for him to drive with his aunt and other family members to Saskatoon on Tuesday for the funeral on Wednesday.  They drove back to Edmonton last night and he flew out this morning.  He should be back in Hawaii now.


On Monday after Jamie and Jenelle got out of school we drove up to Edmonton to meet up with Mike.  We hadn't seen him since Christmas and with him so close (relatively speaking) we wanted to spend at least some time with him.


I think it was Luke that suggested that we take a picture of the three of us and put it on my blog.


That's just what we did.

I took this picture holding out the camera and pointing it back at us.   Its the first time I've been able to do this and get everyone in the picture

(BTW - What do you think of Papahashi's new glasses?   There was a free glasses offer from ClearlyContacts.ca    They were giving away 3000 pairs of glasses in Calgary.  Mine were almost free - I had to pay for the upgrade to the old person bifocals)

Wedding update

Yes, I'm still here.  A lot has happened since my last blog update.

Probably the biggest thing was Alana and Luke's wedding on August 28th in Cardston.

It was nice to have all the girls together.   Wish Mike and Brylie and Tyken could have been there too.

We all drove back to Calgary for the family dinner and reception.

  

It was a classy affair at the Country Club.

One of those events where I wonder which fork to use and which glass is mine.

I think they look happy.

Luke's dad is crazy (in a good way) and he had this idea that we should dance into the family dinner (like the wedding on the Office)

  

I ventured out of my comfort zone and joined in

Someone posted this dance on the internet but I'm not saying where.

  They had a wedding pie instead of a wedding cake.

(Good thing they didn't have a wedding cheese ball - then this would be a picture of them cutting the cheese - just another one off my random thoughts that gives this blog its name).

 Judy and her mom and brothers and sisters - all but one and 1/2.   (1/2 because we only see half of Lou - Sorry about that Lou.   Its the best picture I had - I'm sure someone who reads my blog will have a picture with all of Lou.   If you do please email it to me and I'll replace this picture.)

I mentioned that it was a classy affair.  This is an ice sculpture that doubled as an ice cream bar.

Recently she stayed home with Alana when I went to Utah with Candi, Jamie and Jenelle for a week.   Then she went to Hawaii for 10 days with Jenelle to visit our girls out there.  

I missed Judy and started commenting on how much I missed my "girlfriend".   I've started calling her that now because 1) she really is my girlfriend and 2) I love the reaction of my daughters when I say that.

Happy Mother's Day Judy.  You're grrrrreat!

Its hard to believe but one of my daughters is a mother.

I also have to thank the mother-in-law for raising such a wonderful daughter.

My sister Wilma has a great post today for our mom.   Not only do we share the same great sense of humor, we share the same great mother.
