We got home and mom and Candi and I spent about an hour doing some peaches for freezing . We got about 12 big freezer bags.
Last night I made some fresh peach smoothies with some of the peaches we didn't freeze.
Fresh ingredients and proper preparation are crucial for a tasty smoothy.
Care and caution must be taken not to overfill the blender like I did. Good smoothy may be wasted. Did you know that there are 3 times stuff can fly out of the blender? 1-when you turn it on and it goes all over. 2- when its blending and 3-when you turn it off and this big bubble of air comes up and splashes as if you dropped a rock into the blender.
It was worth the effort.
(Note: Yes, my eyes are open in all the pictures. Its a cultural thing - I'm Japanese!)
On Saturday after the food drive and doing the peaches mom and I drove to Cardston to go to the temple. Nephew Matt Lowry has his mission call and will be heading to Mexico. He was going through the temple for the first time so we thought we would join him and his family. His cousin Will was going through as well - his is going to California on a mission.
Matt with some family members.
(Doesn't the Cardston Temple remind you for Laie Hawaii Temple?)

mmmmmm peaches sound good right now!! Over a little vanilla ice cream!
That would really hit the spot!!
I feel like I almost got to experience the smoothies! I could hear everything when I was talking to candi on the phone, AND i got to see pictures too!
The cardston Temple really does look like the temple here.
did you hear that the Laie Temple is closing for 18 months??!?!?
According to mike it will be closed for some repairs and renos for 18 months as of December 29th
Crazy
Love peaches...they look sooo good with you eating your smoothies and cutting them up to freeze. I can remember canning over 100 jars one year. We are still eating them. This year we just ate them fresh...they didn't last long at our house.
Always love to see photos of people at the Cardston temple. Thanks for sharing it with us.
mm.. i do love peaches canned or even just in the freezer bags.. over ice cream like Angie said! YUMM!!!
Haha.. that is funny about the blender. i can imagine that. today i made muffins and i was trying to get the batter off of the mixer and i held it a little too high and the batter just went all over my clothes instead. haha.
i hope i get to see matt before he leaves! i am excited!
love you
I squinted and tilted my head and I think I saw the peaches splash out of the blender...
I bought a dwarf peach tree this year and was excited to actually pick a few peaches off "my" tree in "my" yard. It's such a strange concept for me to have peaches AND pears growing in my yard...okay, next year I hope to have more peaches and at least one pear.
Candi, I love your hair!
