Morning Walks

If you walk a minute or two from our house there is a ravine.   There is a pathway that goes through this ravine.  Judy and I have been walking this pathway in the mornings.  Its a beautiful walk.  For much of it, the sounds of the city disappear and you can't even see houses.  Its like you've left the city.   Sometimes we talk as we walk - other times we just walk.   Its so nice to be able to get out and enjoy nature and appreciate the wonderful world our Heavenly Father has created for us.

The pictures were taken with a phone so they aren't that great but hopfully you get the idea.

We will often see wildlife along the trail.  These following pictures where taken on 3 different days.

We've also seen coyotes, foxes, eagles, owls, hawks, other colorful birds we didn't recognize.  (That's in addition to the wildlife that is aways around like rabbits, magpies, crows etc)

A few years back Jamie and I were in the ravine and saw 5 or 6 deer facing off against 4 coyotes.   It was like a game of chess.  The coyotes would position themselves then the deer would position themselves.   It went on for about 1/2 an hour until both parties lost interest and when their separate ways.   It was like watching a National Geographic special live.

I love these walks.

I'm glad you posted those pictures...
I had no idea it looked like that. I really should have taken that walk with Dave and the kids, we would have really liked that.

There are so many ways to "get out of the City", without actually leaving the City.

Its wonderful that you can take these walks so close to home. Who needs to go to the mountains to see all the wildlife.

that's a beautiful walk. I love morning walks - whereever I have lived they are usually the best part of a day.
